Welsh Baccalaureate launched at Bryn Hafren ..

( Bryn Hafren site) were thrilled to welcome back a record number of students to the Sixth Form.

This year, for the first time, all Year 12 students will be embarking on the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced diploma.

This initiative was launched on our Welsh Baccalaureate day.

Our 6th Form Students listened attentively to a presentation on this new qualification and then participated enthusiastically in group activities designed to raise awareness of the Welsh Baccalaureate.

Students responded very positively to the day and rose to the challenges presented to them.

The Welsh Baccalaureate is timetabled in lessons that the 6th form have to attend under government legislation (PSE / Keys Skills etc.)

Therefore the Welsh Baccalaureate takes up no extra lesson time and our students have the opportunity to obtain a qualification which is equivalent to an A grade at A level
